Brad Matushak

February 23, 1948 — December 7, 2023

Brad Matushak, age 75 died Thursday December 7, 2023, up North in Wisconsin, a place he loved. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Victor, daughter Alison Broms (Jeff Ongstad), sidekick Milo the Basset Hound, stepmom Laraine Matushak, In-laws Kathy Matushak, Steve and Bonnie Heller. Kenny & Janice Fisher, nephews and nieces Chad (Kristi) Matushak, Jay (Erin) Matushak, Naomi (Shawn) Heller, Jamon (Becca) Heller, Noah Heller. Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Phyllis Matushak and his brother Steve, whom he had a close, connected relationship throughout their lifetimes.
Brad grew up in Superior, Wisconsin, hunting and fishing with friends and family. He was a loyal Green Bay packer fan for the entirety of his life.
Brad moved to the Twin cities for college, paying his way by working on the railroad. He studied at the University of Minnesota, ending up two credits short of a Ph.d in Industrial Psychology. He co-owned the Minneapolis nightclub Schieks, where he would come to meet his love of 43 years, Barb. He built his business “Ceiling Pro” where business was “always looking up” from its conception in 1989, selling franchises of Ceiling Pro all over the world. His retirement in 2016 brought him back to the woods of Webster, WI, finding the open green space, quiet and pace of life he loved. He shared that life with Barb and over time four beloved Basset Hounds. He was Barb’s incredible caregiver with loyalty, and a steadiness as solid as it comes. He was a thoughtful and devoted father to Alison, his humor, compassion and sarcasm ever present.
Brad was a gentle, loving, loyal family member and friend. His friends went as far back as Kindergarten as well as brand new neighbors around their Webster home. Brad’s sly wit, curiosity, humility, and commitment to the people and things he loved will be missed and remembered.
