Beverly Thomas

Beverly Mardell Thomas, age 64, a resident of Danbury, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Beverly was born on September 22, 1956 in Redby, Minnesota to Rupert and Alberta (Guerno) Downwind.

Beverly was highly active in her community. She worked as a teacher’s aide with special needs children and was an Elder Advocate at the Minneapolis American Indian center. She also worked as a baker at Cub foods.

Beverly enjoyed cooking for her family, decorating for the holidays, watching her favorite shows such as chopped and all the singing competitions. She loved to listen to Prince.

Beverly loved going to the casino and playing keno and the penny slots. She also liked to sing karaoke. She especially loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Tayah; niece Dionne; siblings, Harlan, Kevin, Jumbo, Barney, Delora; and in-laws, David, Hildred and Olaf.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry; children, Randy, Michael, Mardell and Michelle; grandchildren, Cassidy, Terry, Aseil, Nemer, Ameed, Artie, Taleeah, Ayanna, Niiwin, Mekwan, Eryka, Justin and Marcellus; great grandchildren, Karmelo, Hailey, Beverly, Val, and Aeeseus; many nieces and nephews; brothers, David, Ross, Mitchell, and Windy; sisters, Gina; aunt, Phillis; in-laws, Christine, Angel, Mike and Deb, Joe and Linda, Darryl, and Julie; and also many other family members.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM (visitation will be held Monday, August 16,2021 at 5:00 PM) at the Lake Lena Community Center, Hinckley, Minnesota.
