In Loving Memory of Beverley Kay Finch
Beverley Kay Finch, age 85, passed away suddenly in her home on January 25, 2025. Born on June 19, 1939, to Guil Horner and Lorraine Lee Horner, she was a lifelong resident of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, where she built a life rooted in love, service, and community.
Bev was a devoted wife to Darrell Finch, whom she married on July 30, 1955. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising five children: Mark Finch, Julie Finch Davis (Ron), Jeffrey Finch (Tracey), Kelly Finch, and Joel Finch (Kris). Though she endured the heartbreaking loss of her husband Darrell and two of their children, Mark and Kelly, Bev's love for her family remained the center of her world. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Josh Davis, Joel Davis, Jenny Davis Fox, Hannah Finch, Lauren Finch Thomas, Michael Patterson, Meghan Patterson, Taylor Finch, and Jessica Finch, as well as a beloved great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life, and her love and guidance will be forever treasured.
Bev was a woman of deep compassion and dedication. After graduating from Grantsburg High School, where she was a cheerleader and a Majorette in the marching band, she pursued a career in nursing, earning her LPN degree. She spent many years caring for others at the Grantsburg Hospital, the Grantsburg and Webster Clinics, the Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg, and facilities in Luck, Wisconsin. She was also an EMT and served her community through the ambulance service. Bev's patients and colleagues adored her for her kindness, skill, and unwavering commitment to their well-being.
After retiring, she found joy and companionship at the Grantsburg Senior Center, where she was an active participant in daily lunches and activities. Her friends there will deeply miss her warm smile and presence. A devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 70 years, Bev's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her church community brought her great comfort and joy.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Guil and Loraine; her husband, Darrell; her children, Mark and Kelly; and her sister, Marilyn Kallman (Lloyd). She is survived by her siblings, Connie Rickard (John), Rick Nelson (Romey), Teresa Nelson Hartlep (Jessie), and Kari Horner Gould; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her love and memory in their hearts.
A celebration of Bev's life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, with a lunch to follow. In honor of her love for children and her commitment to the community, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church's Children's Programs or the Grantsburg Senior Center.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Bev's legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the many lives she touched.
