Betty Jane Davison, age 87, of Grantsburg, WI, passed away Monday evening, January 5, 2015. Betty was born in Oakdale, WI on September 12, 1927, a daughter of the late Carl Austin and Elsie Jane (Hughart) Clover. She attended elementary school at Evergreen School in Sterling Twp., Polk Co. and Grantsburg High School. During her later teen years, Betty was of invaluable help to her parents in raising her younger brothers On January 31, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Wallace F. Davison in Center City, Chisago Co., MN. Not only were they husband and wife, but they were also best friends enjoying each other’s company and experiencing life together. After 61 years of a very loving marriage, Wallace passed away on February 19, 2007. They travelled extensively over the years together, and with their children. They visited many tourist sites and scenic areas and experienced incredible landscapes throughout the mid-western and far-western United States. A special trip was made to Washington D.C. with their son, Chuck, and his daughter, Courtney. Betty had been employed as a practical nurse at Grantsburg Hospital. She also was employed at Parker Hannifin Corp. Betty loved to sew; she enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting. She was also an avid reader. She especially enjoyed reading crime novels. Betty was a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout Den Mother, and also was a Sunday School Teacher at Central United Methodist Church in Grantsburg. Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She deeply loved her children, and that love was unconditional. She and Wallace sacrificed much over the years to ensure their children’s needs were attained. Betty was the life, heart and soul of her family. Preceding her in death are her parents, Carl and Elsie Clover; her husband, Wallace; a son, Barry Davison; grandsons, Tyler Davison and Shawn Williamson; sisters: Pearl Clover and Shirley Wells; and brothers: Bob, Ted, Chuck, and Mickey Clover. Betty is survived by five children: Pauline (George) Swift, Richard Davison, Carleen (Maynard) Williamson, Anna Lisa Davison, and Chuck Davison; granddaughters: Shannon Williamson, Tracy Vail, Keri Diederich, and Courtney Foulk; grandson, Doyle Swift; great-grandchildren: Kyle Louis, Brittany Davison, Kayla Looney, Heather Davison, Melissa Kielty, Miranda Kielty, Arrika Davison, Ted Kollar, Haley Kollar, Austin Louis, and Nicole Swift; great, great-grandchildren: Jackson Looney and Kason-McQuay Louis. She is also survived by a brother, Tom (Peggy) Clover; sister-in law, Linda Clover; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service honoring the life of Betty Davison will be conducted on Monday, January 12, 2015, at 2:00 pm (visitation 1:00 to 2:00 pm) at Central United Methodist Church, Grantsburg, WI, with Pastor Mike Brubaker officiating. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Grantsburg, at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers are: Shannon Williamson, Doyle Swift, Tracy Vail, Keri Diederich, Courtney Foulk, and Tina Davison Berglund.
