Betty Davis

January 28, 1945 — March 10, 2015

Betty L. Davis, age 70, a resident of Grantsburg went home to be with Jesus on March 10, 2015. Betty was born January 28, 1945. She is preceded in death by her parents Gideon and Alice Carlson and her brother Daniel Carlson. On August 24, 1974 Betty married Steve Davis. They called Alaska their home for over 35 years. During that time, they were blessed with two children; Justin and Thyra. She returned to Wisconsin for two of those years, to provide 24 hour care to her parents, until they were called home by the Lord. Betty returned permanently to live in Wisconsin in 1999. She was a lifetime member of Calvary Covenant Church. She also volunteered frequently at her local VFW. She was a homemaker, caregiver, fulltime MOM, best friend and a forever fan of the Green Bay Packers. Go Pack Go. She enjoyed cooking, baking, drinking coffee, and demanded her guests were well fed. Even if they weren't hungry! She enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and especially her grandbabies. Betty was a unbelievable source of strength for all who knew her. She carried much of the weight of the world on her shoulders. Even during times when her heart was suffering she had no complaints. She had a strong faith in Jesus. And encouraged this for others. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Her memories will be forever cherished and never forgotten. She will always be watching over us. As a constant reminder, to give thanks and to love and cherish one another. She is survived by her husband Steve; children Justin (Sadie) Davis and Thyra Davis; her grandchildren Elsie, Broghan, and Kaiya; sisters Karyn Solie and Jane Carlson; brother Jim (Carmen) Carlson; along with many relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:00 (visitation 10-11 AM) at Calvary Covenant Church in Alpha with Pastor Scott Sagle officiating. Music will be provided by David Johnson, Randy Klawitter and Margie Friberg. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Grantsburg.
