Beryl W. Green, age 96 of Hertel, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Spooner Health Systems in Spooner, Wisconsin. Beryl was born February 10, 1912 to Florence (Getter) and Carson Green in Ferryville, Wisconsin. Beryl came from a family of 12 children. Beryl was a life-long resident of Burnett County. Beryl was a farmer most of his life, but also worked in the foundries in St. Paul. He enjoyed raising pigs and eating them (the fatter the better). Beryl also enjoyed fishing (bullheads being his favorite catch), playing cards and pool and going to dances. Beryl was preceded in death by his parents, second wife Leora, infant twin son, son Wayne, and granddaughter Roxanne. Beryl is survived by his children George Green, Marylou (George) Sheldon, children's mother Irene, brother Wilbur Green, sister Ella Newville, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Special thanks to Elna and Stan, Glenda and Billy for all their caring and help in getting Beryl to his doctor appointments. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home in Webster, Wisconsin with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. Music was provided by Fran McBroom and Lauren Taylor. Interment followed at Lakeview (Hertel) Cemetery, LaFollette Township, Wisconsin. Casketbearers were Darrell Sheldon, Greg Sheldon, Mike Green, Kenny Green, Kevin Green and Kelly Green. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin.
