Bernice Krahler

Bernice Krahler (Hoefs) died November 2, 2013 at Burnett Medical Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg, Wisconsin at the age of 85. She was born September 10, 1928 to Robert and Edna Hoefs in Siren, Wisconsin. Bernice attended Mudhen Lake Grade School and Grantsburg High School. She did housework for several wealthy people in St. Paul for nine years. She married Donald Krahler on August 21, 1954 and they had 51 happy years together. After Donald's death, Bernice lived in Siren for two years before she became a resident at Continuing Care in Grantsburg where she resided for four years. Bernice and Don enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Ireland and most of the United States. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents Robert and Edna, her brother George and step-daughter-in-law Kayleen Krahler. Bernice is survived by her brother, Kenneth and wife, Florence and family; step-son Mitchell Krahler; granddaughters Renee and Nicolle; great grandchildren Beau, Kylea, Emma and Jack; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Siren Covenant Church with Pastor Ken Sohriakaff officiating. Music was provided by her niece Delane and husband Craig Jorgenson. Pallbearers were Duane Hoefs, Dale Hoefs, Nicole Krahler, Kelly DeGalier, Donna Olson and Aimie Jorgenson. Interment was at Mudhen Lake Cemetery.
