Bennie Jensen

March 8, 1946 — December 13, 2020

Bennie Ray Jensen age 74, a resident of Grantsburg, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Burnett Medical Continuing Care Center, surrounded by family.

Bennie was born on March 8, 1946 in Superior, Wisconsin to Milton and Olive (Hakseth) Jensen. Bennie was the tenth child of fourteen.

Growing up, Bennie loved to fish and hunt with his father and siblings. As he got older, his love for fixing cars only got stronger. Bennie was a jack of all trades. He would help build, work on any engine, and fix most things that were placed in front of him.

Bennie loved to work in his garden every year, growing numerous vegetables. He loved to use his chainsaw, cutting down trees for firewood and making a path through the woods from his house to his grandchildren’s house, making it easier and safer for his grandchildren to come to his house without having to use the road. Bennie worked at Rolite, Fisher Stoves and later becoming one of the partners of North Country Trailers.

In the fall of 1964, he was united in marriage with Jeanne Hess. After 56 years of marriage, they were blessed with 3 children, Jeanna Rose, Benton Ray, and April Ellen.

Through the years he became Grandpa to 6 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. Watching them grow older and becoming young adults was one of his great accomplishments. He was very proud of them all. He helped them all with building whatever their imagination came up with. Bennie loved watching hockey. He even built a hockey rink in his backyard flooding his garden and making sure it was ready to teach the grandchildren to skate.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; Milton and Olive Jensen, siblings; Maynard “Pete” Jensen, Betty Verdick, Lenore “Dolly” Anderson, and Dwight Jensen.

Bennie is survived by his wife; Jeanne, their children; Jeanna Steele, Benton (Kim) Jensen and April Hendrickson, grandchildren; Amanda Jensen, Alexander Steele, Hunter and Mikayla Jensen, Carly and Ava Hendrickson, and great grandchild; John Nelson, sisters; Beatrice “Bea” Strachota, Evon Finch, Kay Harmon, Lulette
“Lu” Human, and Annette Edaburn, brothers; Glen, Milton ”Oscar”, Rodney, Arlen and numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.
