Arthur Matson

Arthur J. Matson, age 79, of Siren died Monday, December 28, 2009 at his home. Arthur was born on May 2, 1930 in Helena, Montana to Arthur J. and Alice Matson. Arthur married Janet on September 27, 1950 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Arthur worked as a truck driver for 37 years for Marshall Concrete Products. After retiring they moved to their retirement home which Arthur had built by hand. Arthur enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and past church council member. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents. Arthur is survived by his wife Janet; children Brian (Kathy) Matson of New Brighton, MN; Vicky (Dirk) Lehmann of Hutchinson, MN; Cindy Matson of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren Emily, Corinna, and Jake; great grandchildren Heath and Ashtyn; brothers Clarence (Meredith) Matson of Maple Grove, MN and Herb (Jill) Matson of Zimmerman, MN; and his yellow lab, Kelta. Memorial services were held Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Bethany Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM (visitation 9:30-11:00 AM) with Pastor John Clasen officiating. Music was provided by Fran McBroom.
