Ardis Sawyer

At age 90, on December 3, 2017, Ardis Carol Sawyer, quietly passed on to a heavenly choir directing position. We celebrate her life as a Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, teacher, and as a mentor. Born in Mt Clemens, MI on November 15, 1927 Ardis was the youngest of four children in the family of Richard and Gladys Endelman of Algonac, MI. She married John Sawyer in 1948 and they had two children. She was a 5 th grade teacher, music instructor, and librarian. Her great love was singing, in choirs, chorals and community theater, as well as choir directing. She was a hospice volunteer, avid bird watcher, cross-country skier, and frequent traveler. In her later years she enjoyed her retirement home in the middle of the Wisconsin woods – spending many hours with her beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Gladys; brothers, Richard and Leo; sister, Laurine; former husband, John and her daughter, Carol. She is survived by her son, Charles (Cindy); grandchildren, Steven Sawyer and Emily (Bryan) Vandersommen; great-grandchildren, William, Wesley and Lynnea, and nieces, Kathy Aikin, Judy Schlottman, Amy Benedict, Julie Beth Brown, and Betsy Endelman. A Celebration of Life memorial service for Ardis is schedule for Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Lakeside Community Lutheran Church  ·  28626 County Rd H  ·  Webster, WI  54893.   A visitation is at 10 AM, the Celebration of Life service begins at 11 AM, and a luncheon follows about noon.  Directions from Webster: ½ mile north on WI-35, 15 miles east on Co Hwy A, ½ mile north on Co Rd H   Arrangements have been entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster, WI.
