Anna Smith

Anna L. Smith passed away on December 10, 2013 at Christian Community Home of Osceola, Wisconsin at the age of 98 years. "Ann" as she preferred to be called, was born March 18, 1915 to Fred and Esther (Olson) Nordin in Roseau, Minnesota. She grew up and taught school in a one-room schoolhouse in Siren, Wisconsin. She married Francis Smith and had a son, Duane and a daughter, Annette. Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis and her brothers, Carl and Kenneth Nordin. She will be sadly missed by her son, Duane (Elisheva) Smith, her daughter Annette (Ray) Vellenga, Grandsons, David, Dennis and Douglas, her sisters, Esther Conroy, Luella Monson , Hazel Keppen, and Betty Anderson, her brother, Glenn (Mary) Nordin, her sister-in-law-Elaine Nordin and many nieces, nephews and their children. Services will be Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00am, with visitation from 10-11 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Siren. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Siren. Pastor Paul Peterson will officiate. Pallbearers are Steve Nordin, Bob Nordin, Dennis Vellenga, and Doug Vellenga. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Ann's name be made to the charity of your choice.
