Alta S. Evans, 81, of Grantsburg passed away on January 19, 2014 at Burnett Medical Continued Care Center. Alta was born April 3, 1932 to Fred and Minnie Sprandel in Aikin County, Minnesota. She married Franklin Leo Moody on July 24, 1954 and was married for 14 years before Leo passed away. She married Alva (Al) Evans on August 1, 1973 at Faith Lutheran Church in Grantsburg, Wisconsin and was married for 27 years before Al passed away. Alta loved spending time with her family & friends; she enjoyed flowers and gardening. Alta was a long time member with WELCA and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Alta is preceded in death by her parents; Minnie and Fred, her first husband Leo Moody and her husband Al Evans, her brothers Leonard Sprandel and his wife, Blanche, Herb Sprandel and his wife Carol, Howard Sprandel, her brother-in-law Roy Bielejeskie, her sister Emily Kanta and her daughter Peggy Moody. She will be sadly missed by her children: Linda Hecht, Kathy (Tony) Berg, Stanley Moody, Bev (Richard) Green, Brian (Lori) Moody, Jeff (Bonny) Moody, Dean (Ramona) Moody, her siblings, Lyle (Carma) Sprandel, Evelyn (Clarence) Kraetzner, Marcella (Al) Edstrom, Darlene Bielejeskie, and sister-in-law Betty Evans. Her grandchildren: Jesse and Jocelyn Hecht, Sarah Njos, Ethan and Sam Green, Rhyan, Laina and Amber Richison, Mikala and Vada Moody, Tessa Zeller, Jason Randall and Kelly Gardner, Melissa Roberts, Adam and Ashley Moody, and 14 great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Grantsburg Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Falun at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) on Saturday, January 25, 2014 with Pastor Carl Heidel officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview (Mudhen Lake) Cemetery in Siren. Pallbearers will be Brian Moody, Jeff Moody, Dean Moody, Adam Moody, Jesse Hecht and Jason Randall.
