Allen Van Elsberg

Allen (Bud) James Van Elsberg, age 67, a resident of Danbury, Wisconsin formerly of Forest Lake, Minnesota died on Sunday, December 13, 2009. Bud was born on December 27, 1941 in Forest Lake, Minnesota to Lloyd and Iris (Hanson) Van Elsberg. Bud attended Forest Lake Senior High and lived in the Forest Lake area until he moved to Danbury, Wisconsin in 2002. Bud co-owned and managed a motel with his wife Roselyn and retired in 2002. Bud enjoyed sitting in his kitchen looking at nature through his front window. He also enjoyed his big boy toys. Most of his toys had a seat and could move dirt or make things easier. Bud was a friend to everyone and was always there when you needed him. Bud was liked by all. He had a unique ability to listen and make you feel important. He is preceded in death by father Lloyd, mother Iris and brother Gary (Butch). Bud is survived by his wife Roselyn, sisters Mardy (Bob) and Vonnie (Tom), son Tom (Becky) and daughter Vicki; hi step-children are Jody, Sheila, Troy and Wendy; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4pm - 7pm on Friday December 18th at Mattson Funeral Home in Forest Lake, Minnesota.
