Alfred Milton Proffit, age 95 of Cloverton, died January 31, 2009. Alfred was born on July 28, 1913 to Edward and Elizabeth (Olson) Proffit. He was born in Cloverton in the house that he was to live in for the next 90 years. In 2003, because of his health moved in with his daughter Edie (Aletha) and family. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, his brother Lloyd and Lloyd’s wife Esther, who also passed away on January 31. Alfred is survived by sister Mildred Andersen of Brainerd and her son Allen Bell, his sister-in-law Virginia Jones, his sons Ed (Janet) of Cloverton, Mit (Cheryl) of Fergus Falls, his daughters Edie (Bob) Quam of Fergus Falls, Laurie (Ken) Baalson of Emily, Amy (Ed) Proffit-Jacobs of Minneapolis, his grandchildren Lisa, LaMont, Darren, Keri, Melinda, Marcia, Teresa and Curtis, and 10 great grandchild, his nephews Duane (Karen) and Ron (Sharon ) Proffit of Cozy Corners and their families, and Alfred also loved Betty’s many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Markville Cemetery, with lunch and fellowship following at the Arna Town Hall in Markville, for all friends and family. Alfred’s children suggest that no flowers or memorials be sent. Please celebrate his life with happy memories. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Webster, Wisconsin.
