Alan Melton

Alan Jay Melton, age 56, passed away on June 3, 2011 at Spooner Health System. Alan was born on January 30, 1955 in Waukegan, IL to Edward and Evelyn (Micken) Melton. Alan was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in Lampson, WI. The family moved to the Spooner area in the late 1960's. After attending high school in the area, Alan moved back to Illinois and worked at Six Flags Amusement Park repairing and painting the rides. One of his favorite hobbies was working on restoring collector cars. He also liked to fish and drive out to the local lakes to check out the action. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a kid at heart, especially around his nieces and nephews. Alan battled cancer over the last few years of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family. Alan is survived by his parents, Ed and Evelyn; siblings, Donna (Von) Markadonis, Kent Melton, Lois Persen, Cindy (Ken) Moore, Patti Melton, Barbara Melton, Stanley Melton and Beverly (Adan) Saldana; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to services on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Spooner Cemetery.
