Alan Kirby

Alan C. Kirby, age 63, a resident of Siren died March 25, 2012 at Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg. Alan was born on June 12, 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Harry and Irene Kirby. He married Zandra on December 14, 1974 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Alan enjoyed fishing, camping and watching Nascar. But most of all, Alan liked spending time and helping out family, friends and others. Alan served in the United States Navy during Vietnam before being honorably discharged in 1970. He was a past member of the American Legion Falldin Post in N.E. Minneapolis. Alan was preceded in death by his father Harry. He is survived by his wife Zandra; his mother Irene; children Nichole (John) Mason and Jason Kirby; grandchildren Jazzmine, Tristin, LaRae and George; sister LeighAnn (Andrew) Zinken; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM (visitation 1-2PM) at Swedberg-Taylor Family Funeral Home, Siren Chapel with Pastor Carl Heidel officiating.
